Akershus Princess Breakfast Dress Code: What to Wear in 2026
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, inside the Norwegian castle in EPCOT's Norway pavilion, is where families have breakfast with the Disney princesses at Walt Disney World. Before the reservation, most parents ask the same thing: is there a dress code for the Akershus princess breakfast, and what should my daughter wear? Here's the 2026 answer.
Breakfast at the Castle?
A first look at the gowns girls wear to Akershus
Is There a Dress Code at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall?
No. There is no formal dress code for breakfast at Akershus. The restaurant follows the same rules as the rest of the park, which Disney calls "theme park casual": shorts, T-shirts and sneakers are all fine. Walt Disney World's normal attire and costume guidelines still apply.
What to Wear to Akershus Breakfast at EPCOT
- A princess gown, if she wants one. Many girls dress up for the princess photos, and children are welcome to wear princess dresses.
- Park clothes are fine too. Not every child is in a gown. Plenty of families come in regular park clothes or a princess T-shirt, and nobody is underdressed.
- A hem that clears the floor. Disney's rules say costumes can't drag on the ground, and she'll walk through EPCOT afterward.
- Comfortable shoes. Most families head straight into the park after breakfast.
- A light layer. Restaurants are air-conditioned, and winter mornings in Orlando can be cool.

Does Akershus Have Characters at Breakfast?
Yes. Akershus is Princess Storybook Dining: several Disney princesses, often including Snow White, visit each table during the meal for photos and hugs. Breakfast is now served family style, with platters brought to the table. Because she'll meet the princesses up close, this is the meal where a princess dress makes the photos.
What Do Adults Wear to Akershus?
Theme park casual. Guests 14 and older can't wear full costumes in the parks or restaurants at Walt Disney World, so adults usually wear park clothes or "Disneybound" in a princess's colors, such as a yellow skirt and red cardigan to go with a Snow White daughter.
Akershus or Cinderella's Royal Table: Which Is Dressier?
Neither has a dress code, but Cinderella's Royal Table, inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, is where the most families go all out with full ball gowns. Akershus is more relaxed, with a mix of gowns and park clothes. See our Cinderella's Royal Table dress code guide if you're doing both.
